Nova NFA (National Futures Association) regra que tem efeito apartir de dia 15 de Maio de 2009, 2009
NFA é a organização que regula os Broker Forex nos EUA
Não é mais possivel abrir posições long and shortno mesmo par de moedas ao mesmo tempo.
“Offsetting Transactions
New Compliance Rule 2-43(b) requires an FDM to offset positions in a customer account on a first-in, first-out basis, thereby prohibiting a trading practice commonly referred to as “hedging.” A customer may, however, direct the FDM to offset same-size transactions even if there are older transactions of a different size. Rule 2-43(b) is effective for any positions established after May 15, 2009. Offsetting positions that were established prior to the effective date do not have to be liquidated, but once either position is closed out after May 15, it may not be reestablished as a hedge….”

FOREX (Foreign exchange) ou Mercado Internacional Divisas está associado ao câmbio de moedas. Ele é o maior mercado do mundo, em termos de volume de dinheiro movimentado: são mais de 3,2 trilhões de dólares diariamente (de acordo com a versão em língua inglesa da Wikipedia, acessada em 8 de dezembro de 2007), o que representa 32 vezes mais do que a soma de todas as bolsas dos Estados Unidos e quase 1400 vezes o volume negociado na Bovespa em 2007. Inclui trocas entre grandes bancos, bancos centrais, corporações multinacionais, governos, e outras instituições financeiras. Pequenos investidores são uma parte muito pequena deste mercado, e só podem participar indiretamente através de brokers ou bancos.
